The Untitled Space is pleased to present "WE ARE WOMEN: Works On Paper," a curated collection of works on paper highlighting the gallery’s celebrated roster of women artists. Running from August 26 – September 2, 2025, the online event offers collectors the opportunity to acquire featured artwork at 25% off with code Art4Equality25, exclusively through untitled-space.art. A portion of proceeds will benefit Art4Equality, the non-profit initiative founded by Indira Cesarine to champion gender equality through art and activism.
The collection showcases works by a dynamic lineup of contemporary women artists whose practices span diverse themes and aesthetics, from feminist commentary to explorations of intimacy, identity, and emotional landscapes. Featured artists include Sarah Maple, celebrated for her provocative and satirical works that confront cultural and political constructs, and Indira Cesarine, whose multimedia practice challenges systems of power while amplifying feminist narratives. Elena Chestnykh brings layered reflections on time, memory, and identity, while Grace Graupe-Pillard contributes expressive works that grapple with politics, gender, and representation. Katie Commodore explores sexuality and intimacy in finely detailed depictions, and pioneering feminist painter Robin Tewes creates surreal, psychologically resonant works that bridge the personal and collective. Tabitha Whitley examines contemporary identity through cultural storytelling, while Rebecca Leveille reclaims narratives of female subjectivity through lush, figurative works. Martha Zmpounou contributes striking works on paper exploring fragmented identity and the female body, while Joanne Agabs presents richly detailed compositions infused with personal narrative. Also included are works by Helena Calmfors, whose evocative imagery delves into BDSM narratives, alongside pieces from the late Fahren Feingold, celebrated for her ethereal watercolors of the female form, merging historical references with contemporary feminist narratives.
The Untitled Space, founded in 2015 by artist and curator Indira Cesarine, has become an influential platform for women in the arts over the past decade. Located in Tribeca, New York City, the gallery is recognized for its thought-provoking exhibitions that merge art with social issues and activism. Its program focuses on contemporary female-identifying artists across diverse mediums, with past exhibitions including solo shows and group presentations such as UPRISE/ANGRY WOMEN, IRL: Investigating Reality, Body Beautiful, and the recent UPRISE 2025: The Art of Resistance, celebrating the gallery’s 10th anniversary. In addition to its exhibitions, The Untitled Space is known for its partnerships with non-profits and initiatives such as Art4Equality, providing opportunities for artists to engage with themes of social justice, equality, and empowerment.
In a moment when the art world faces unprecedented challenges and many notable galleries are closing their doors, WE ARE WOMEN: Works On Paper underscores the importance of continuing to support women artists and initiatives dedicated to diversity and equality. The Untitled Space, now in its second decade, remains steadfast in its mission to challenge the status quo, amplify women’s voices, and champion the power of art as a tool for cultural dialogue and activism.
