Geoffrey Stein is a recovering lawyer, who, after a career as a reinsurance litigator, quit practicing law and has been painting full-time since 2000. He received a Certificate in painting from the New York Studio School in 2004, and a Masters in Fine Art from the Slade School of Fine Art, London in 2007. Stein wrote his thesis on drawing and the history of the Life Room at the Slade. He was one of the last Slade students to work in the Life Room before it closed. Stein has shown throughout the United States and in London, Dublin, Paris, and Reykjavik. His work was recently featured in The Untitled Space's "Art4Equality x Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Happiness" group show. He lives and paints in New York City and Westport, Connecticut.
