Alanna Vanacore is an American painter born in Ormond Beach, Florida. She lives and works in Hudson, New York. Working primarily in painting, Vanacore explores emotion, transformation, and the poetic tension between realism and abstraction. Her work invites playful whimsy into everyday life, balancing technical sensitivity with instinctive mark-making.
Vanacore earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting from The University of North Florida before relocating to New York City to pursue her studio practice. Her paintings range from representational compositions to nearly abstract works, reflecting an evolving visual language rooted in observation, memory, and personal reflection.
She has exhibited with The Untitled Space in New York, including the landmark 10th Anniversary exhibition “UPRISE 2025: The Art of Resistance.” She also participated in the gallery’s exhibitions “RAPTURE” (2022) and “The REBEL Exhibition” (2022), further establishing her presence within the gallery’s programming.
Vanacore’s practice is deeply autobiographical. Her paintings serve as visual documentation of growth, emotion, and lived experience—at times quiet and introspective, at others playful and irreverent. Through color, gesture, and layered composition, she captures both the hum of internal thought and the spontaneous energy of lived moments, creating works that feel intimate, expressive, and emotionally immediate.
Artist Statement
“I like to paint. To challenge myself but mostly because I’m so drawn to the process that I feel compelled to keep doing it. There are two sides to me creating art. One is quiet—endless conversations and connections humming beneath the surface. The other is completely ridiculous. I dance, sing, crack jokes, and listen to music really loud. I paint what I feel or whatever is happening around me. My art is a documentation of my life and growth as a human.”
