Ekaterina Popova’s paintings transform mundane domestic interiors into psychologically charged, dreamlike spaces. She has exhibited internationally, including in Paris, Menorca, and New York City, and her work has been featured in publications such as Flow Magazine and Colossal. With an Instagram following of over 70,000, Popova’s practice reaches a global audience. Influenced by artists including Mary Cassatt, Henri Matisse, Pierre Bonnard, and Édouard Vuillard, her interiors are animated by luminous, often uncanny light. These spaces reflect her experience as an immigrant to the United States and explore themes of home, memory, and belonging.
In addition to her interiors, Popova creates expressive, Fauvist-inspired nature works that celebrate color, movement, and emotional resonance.
