Mairi-Luise Tabbakh’s photographic work captures the raw essence of woman as a subject and explores the sensuality of human relationships. The objectification of her subject is all the more intriguing given her own femininity, adding a layer of mystery to her work. Her photographs have been featured in various publications as well as group exhibitions in both London and Paris and can be found within a number of notable private art collections. Tabbakh’s London debut was “Humans Relations,” a two-person exhibition alongside Fenton Bailey that presented a monochromatic theme of erotic photography. Sascha Bailey curated the show at Imitate Modern and it launched to an impressive turnout of celebrities, collectors and press, cementing its success with industry heavyweight Damien Hirst purchasing pieces for his own collection. Marco Pierre White, Lord Bath and Derek Chisora are also collectors of Tabbakh’s photography. Tabbakh leaves no question to the passion and depth of emotion in her imagery. Recent exhibitions her work has been featured in include the group shows “(HOTEL) XX” at SPRING/BREAK Art Show, “SECRET GARDEN: The Female Gaze on Erotica”, and "IRL: Investigating Reality" at The Untitled Space.
