Tiana Diakova is a painter based in Barcelona whose practice bridges academic realism and expressive abstraction. Inspired by childhood experiences of camping in the wild, she explores the relationship between the human body in motion and the space around it.
Diakova developed her distinctive style while studying at the Barcelona Academy of Art, where she began combining finely rendered graphite figures with fluid, abstract ink backgrounds. In 2023, she expanded her practice to oil painting, introducing greater richness, depth, and color. Her work reflects a pursuit of harmony between anatomy, movement, and energy, inviting a reconnection with the body and natural world amid rapid technological advancement.

Artist Statement

"The theme of “Dream” resonates with my work through the exploration of a space between reality and imagination- a moment where the visible world begins to transform and reveal something more subtle beneath the surface.

My images are born from an interest in the human body as a carrier of emotion, memory and energy. Through movement and the relationship between the figure and its surroundings, I explore moments when the body seems to move beyond its physical limitations and enter another state of awareness. These moments remind us of the experience of dreaming: a place where time becomes fluid, boundaries become uncertain and the impossible feels within reach.
