Parker Day is a photographic artist based in Los Angeles, California whose work deals with identity, the formation of our personas, and what lies beneath these personas. Her first body of work, “ICONS,” premiered in a solo exhibition at Superchief Gallery LA in 2017 and was sold as an NFT collection in 2022 with Quantum Art. Day has had solo shows at Superchief Gallery Miami and New York, Peyer Fine Art in Zurich, and Niggeler Urban Contemporary in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Group shows she’s participated in include the Every Woman Biennial, FRONT Triennial in Cleveland, Spring/Break Art Show in New York, and the Juxtapoz Clubhouse in Miami during Art Basel. Her work has been featured in Vogue Italia, Juxtapoz, Vice, i-D, Paper, and Dazed, among others. Not a Cult published her monographs “ICONS” and “Possession.”
“I photograph characters on film, often collaborating with my models to craft their characters for the camera. I’m interested in exploring the boundary between a real person and a fictitious one, and I see the personas we present as real in that they convey our feelings and who we believe ourselves to be. But that’s not our whole truth – I believe we are all a part of something much greater and that there’s an underlying oneness, regardless of our outward expressions.”
