Carolina Pavia is a Mexican contemporary artist whose practice explores consciousness, perception, transformation, and the unseen dimensions of human experience. She began her artistic journey through graffiti in 2008 before transitioning into formal easel painting, where she developed a meticulous oil painting practice.

Working primarily in oil, Pavia creates dreamlike figures and symbolic environments that examine the relationship between the inner world and physical reality. Her career includes collaborations on notable artistic and cultural projects, as well as exhibitions in Mexico and internationally. Her solo exhibitions include ADENTRO, habitando lo invisible at Centro Cultural Clavijero in Morelia, Mexico, and Tales of Conscious Dreams at Galería 55 in Ottawa, Canada. Pavia lives and works in Mexico.

Artist Statement 

"My work invites the viewer to step away from the rhythm of everyday life and look through a window into a possible world—one that exists somewhere between reality and imagination.

I use painting as a way to process the messages, experiences, and emotions that come from the world around me. I transform my human experience into imagined beings, giving form to thoughts and sensations that are difficult to express through reality alone.

These beings inhabit a universe shaped by my own perception, where the everyday can take on new forms and meanings. Through them, I seek to create a moment of pause, allowing the viewer to encounter, for a moment, a reality different from the one they know.
