Osaze Stigler is a self-taught, mixed media artist from Atlanta, GA. The focus of his work are black subjects, intersecting ideas of black divinity, luxury, and beauty. His work encompasses layers of religious iconography and cultural trends between the African continent and the diaspora (traditional and current). He is trained as a landscape architect and urban planner, where his role is to promote equity accessibility, comfort, and beauty. Giving communities the tools to feel ownership over and safety within their spaces is what allows them to thrive. That’s similar to what he does in his art. He represent black people in ways that they can feel like comfort, beauty, abundance, and equity are accessible to us. His work was recently profiled by Beyoncé on her website, and is currently featured in The Untitled Space group exhibition, "Art4Equality x Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Happiness."
